Saturday, July 12, 2014 We REALLY slept in today, even Auggie. I know the horses did all the work, but we must have been tired from our ride yesterday. We decided to take the day off and stay around the campground today. Bob did some work on the outside and I worked on the inside. He washed the front of the trailer and the truck to get off all the bugs. We finished cleaning the wheels from all the tar. It was sunny and very warm today. I think the high reached 90. I caught him taking a breather in the shade, under the trees.
I did 3 loads of wash, cleaned the inside of the trailer, and worked on my blog from yesterday. The campground was empty as people went about their business, so the Internet was fast and the laundry was available. We both finished, had some lunch, and headed down to the pool. It was 1:30 and the pool was empty. We had it all to ourselves. That’s me, enjoying the refreshing water and the solitude.
We hung around the pool visiting with a few other campers that showed up. Around 3:30 parents and their kids started arriving, so we decided it was time to go. We cleaned up and went into St. Mary for a few groceries. By now, the temp had climbed to 92 and we had to turn on the air. We relaxed with cocktails before dinner and watched a movie as we waited for things to cool off a bit before Auggie got his walk. We sat outside, watching the sun set behind the mountains, having a campfire, and making s’mores. It’s amazing that it stays light here until after 10:30. It wasn’t long before the moon appeared and rose from behind the mountains in the east. It moved higher in the sky very quickly.
We have a full day planned for tomorrow–a combination boat-hike tour. Tomorrow is our last day here in St. Mary. Then we move to the west side for a week in West Glacier. It’s been all I thought it would be….and more.
Great job again Cindy! We look forward to your post each day. I had just gotten into bed and Mike yelled in your pictures were up! So I grabbed my glasses and Kindle to check out your adventures. I wasn’t disappointed. Thanks for sharing!
