It was a beautiful start to the day as we began our final preparations to leave today. We had packed the truck and trailer yesterday and left them attached to each other to make our departure quicker this morning. We parked everything in the auditorium parking lot down our street last night. Bob brought the truck and trailer to the house at 8:15 this morning and we finished loading up. We made sure the house was secure and pulled out at 8:30 for our 6 hour drive to Brunswick, GA for our first night.
Traffic was fairly light with the usual truck traffic for a Monday. We traveled on I-75 to Ocala through the rolling hills of “horse country”, then up Hwy 301, lined by citrus groves and berry farms.
Traffic picked up around Jacksonville as we approached the S. Brunswick River.
We crossed the Georgia border and arrived at the Coastal GA RV Resort at 2:30.
We chose site #202–the exact site we had when we came through last summer on our way home from Nova Scotia. It’s a pull-through site so we didn’t have to disconnect the trailer from the truck.
We relaxed, settled in, and then checked out the camp store and the pool. Later we took a swim at the pool before dinner.
Tomorrow would be a short, 111 mile drive, to Hilton Head Resort and Marina where we’ll spend a couple of days. We’ve seen these places by boat. Now we get to check them out by land. We had a quiet evening and sat outside in the shade as the sun went down and things cooled off. We’ll sleep good tonight after our 294 mile drive today.
I’m following you!!!
I feel like I’m on
the trip with you with those
awesome pictures,be safe.

Just read all five blogs. While you’re surrounded by tourists, Woody and I are in the north woods happily reading, napping and snacking. Yesterday 7 relatives came for a pontoon ride and lunch. Tomorrow Marilyn (first grade friend) and Nancy (fourth grade friend) are coming for a pontoon ride and lunch. I’m doing too much cooking.
