It was a cool 47 degrees this morning when we pulled out at 9:15. We stayed hooked up so it would be a quick departure. The wind had not started up yet, but it was sunny and cloudless. We crossed the Arkansas River in Oklahoma before we crossed the border.
The terrain looked a lot like Wisconsin–rolling hills, farmlands, and forests. We had to drive through Little Rock to get to our campground. We arrived at Downtown Riverside RV Park at 2:00.
We were assigned to site #45 and set up camp.
The campground is owned by the city and is right on the Arkansas River.
From the campground, you can walk across the bridge to get to the Clinton Presidential Library.
We can also see the Little Rock Riverwalk from across the river. Bob told me that the bridge lights up at night, so the three of us took a walk after dinner to check it out. The bridges had some small lights on them, but not the neon lights Bob had seen pictures of. We move on to Tupelo, MS tomorrow. It will be a shorter drive than today’s 284 miles, but still windy.
