Lake City to Palmetto, FL

August 9, 2015

Today is our last day of vacation. We woke up and began to pack up and clean out. That gave us less to do once we got home. All we had to do was off-load the bags, etc. from the trailer and in his heat and humidity that helped. The trailer was clean and ready to go on our next adventure. We pulled out of the campground at 10:15 for our 4 hour drive and arrived home at 2:00. Our exit at the Ellenton Outlet Mall had the ramp backed up onto the freeway–an accident waiting to happen. Luckily, all the traffic was headed to the Mall and we had clear sailing home.

We parked the trailer in front of the house to unload. We had everything off in no time and took the trailer back to the storage facility just north of town. It took us less than an hour to unload and return home after putting the trailer into storage. We’ve got this thing down to a science.

Back at home, we had things to put away and had lots of wash to do. Auggie went back into his groove easily as he sat outside looking for geckos. It wasn’t long before they knew that he was back. In all, we were gone 5 weeks (to the day) and traveled 5,286 miles through 14 states. The weather was really good to us. We never had to travel or sightsee in the rain. In fact, we had very little rain on this trip at all. It was a fabulous trip with no major problems or repairs needed. Spending this much time in this new trailer has reaffirmed how much we like it. Thanks for traveling with us via our blog. Till next time……..
