June 2, 2020 Panama City Beach to Pensacola, FL

It was a hazy day with a nice breeze. We were in no hurry to leave this morning since we only had 128 miles to go today with a check-in time of 1:00 or after. We left the campground at 10:45 after enjoying our 3-night stay at Pineglen RV Park. We would definitely come back here again. We planned to leave coastal Highway 98 after traveling a few miles west to head north and connect with I-10 and travel on that for most of the day. In that way we would avoid all the traffic ad small coastal towns on our drive to Pensacola. The secondary roads we took to get to I-10 were lightly traveled and newly paved which made for a very comfortable drive.

As we neared Pensacola, we passed this biker that we had seen earlier last week on our trip between Fanning Springs and Carrabelle Beach many miles ago. He had come so far.

We crossed Pensacola Bay and within a few miles we were arriving at our campground, Pensacola RV Park around 1:00.

We pulled into site #49 with lots of space between sites and grass for Auggie.

We decided to do a couple of loads of laundry in the motorhome and relax. Tomorrow we want to view the Blue Angels practice at 11:30 and visit the famous Florabama Bar on the border of Florida and Alabama. The last time we were in Pensacola in 2017, the Blue Angels were away putting on an air show somewhere else, so we never got to see them. We are happy to be able to see them in town while we are here this time. We took our usual walk around the campground with Auggie after dinner and enjoyed the rest of the evening. The skies darkened and the radar showed that we might get rain tonight, so we wanted to get our walk in before that happened. The campground was pretty full with campers from all over the country.
