July 10, 2020 Grand Junction, CO (Day 3)

It was another sunny morning with a high of 99 expected. The predicted temp for Grand Junction for the next week is 103, 103, 102, 100, 100, 98, 100. Yikes! Montrose, where we’ll be for the next 6 days, is a little better–98, 98. 94. 94. 93. 91. 93. Humidity is always low — under 10%. Unfortunately, there’s no rain in sight and the things are very dry. We finished washing the left side of the bus before the sun came around. We did some housecleaning projects that were overdue. Auggie, the “dust dog”, got another much-needed bath and a trim. We sat outside watching some TV while waiting for Randy and Jane to arrive. More campers came in for the weekend as we thought they would. Randy and Jane arrived at 5:00 and took the campsite next to ours.

We did some catching up and then Randy and Jane went to get their trailer set up. We had dinner together with traditional Wisconsin brats and sauerkraut! We celebrated with champagne since we weren’t able to be at their wedding ceremony.

We relaxed after dinner with wine, telling stories and reminiscing about the past. After awhile, we called it a night and went to our respective RV’s. Tomorrow we leave for Montrose, but before that, Randy needs to take his truck into the local GMC dealer to check on a gas leak. He has an appointment for 9 AM and Bob will pick him up and give him a ride back to the campground.
