Gulfport–Day 2

We had a leisurely morning doing nothing much. About mid-morning, I finally decided I should do something, so after Bob defrosted the refrigerator, I did some vacuuming. We had to stay another day in Gulfport because we had to wait for Bob’s UPS package of generator parts. It finally arrived about 1:00, so that was good. It was cheaper to “overnight” the package than to actually drive to St. Pete from our house, over the Sunshine Bridge with tolls, and pick it up ourselves, especially with the price of gas nowadays.

After lunch, I took Auggie for a walk along a shady street. I treated myself to an ice cream after our walk and Auggie treated himself to a nap. What a life!

Bob and I played cards during the worst heat of the day and when it started to cool off, Bob washed out the cockpit. We never got a drop of rain last night, but the clouds were building in the East this afternoon. There’s still a chance that we could get some rain tonight.

We heard from our friends, Bernie and Barb, who live in Cape Coral. They started on their boat trip to Key West and the Dry Tortugas yesterday. I am so jealous because those were the places we were hoping to go to on this trip, but I wish them good weather and safe boating. I will be anxious to hear all about it and see the pictures. We cleaned up and grilled lamb chops for dinner. Once things cooled down, we took Auggie for a walk before it got dark. We will move on tomorrow for a couple of days at Caladesi State Park.
