Ft. Myers Beach to Palmetto, FL

We woke up kind of early and got right into gear for taking down the camp. Today we would be heading home. We had breakfast and Auggie got his walk. Bob worked outside while I worked on the inside details. We were all ready to go by 9:15. The campground was deserted this morning.

There were just a few of us left that were leaving today. We headed out and crossed the Caloosahatchee River in Ft. Myers and we headed north.

We were going to make one stop at North Trail RV in Ft. Myers to have them check the hitch and make an adjustment, if needed. Our appt. was for 10:00 and we arrived a few minutes late because of morning traffic. The man from the service dept. discussed the situation with Bob and it was agreed that Bob could do the adjustment on the hitch himself. That would save us some time and money in the service dept. We were back on the road again by 10:30. Traffic was very light and the weather was warm. We got rain off and on throughout the drive home, but nothing major. The ride was uneventful and we arrived back to the house in Palmetto at 12:00. We unloaded the trailer in about 30 minutes and we ready to move it into storage. I had done a lot of the packing and cleaning before we left the campground this morning, so it was just a matter of off-loading everything. We’ve got the system down! We drove straight to North Manatee Storage and into the washing bay. The trailer was going to get a wash before going back into storage for a month.

After the wash, we moved the trailer back into its reserved space and did a few things to get it stored properly. We were back home by 2:00 to rest and relax. It was a great trip! Spending 4-5 days in one spot helped to make for a relaxing time. The weather was perfect and everything ran well. Success! It’s good to be home!
