Brookfield, WI June 6, 2014

Friday, June 6, 2014 We slept in and saw Kaya walk to his bus stop and James leave for work. Auggie spotted our stowaway gecko on the wall this morning and pursued him, but to no avail. A little while later, we found the gecko sunning himself on the top of the sofa. Try as we might to get close to him, he was too elusive for us today.

When Izzy got up, she came to visit us in our “house”. She liked looking out the “window” of the trailer door which was just at her level.

Grandpa Bob and Izzy took Auggie for his morning walk down the street.

I placed my pineapple plant outside to catch some sunshine on this fine day! It is coming along nicely. It won’t be long now before we can enjoy some fresh pineapple.

Once Izzy had her breakfast, we were off to run a few errands and spend some time at the Milwaukee Zoo. We stopped for a quick lunch at McDonalds and then off to the zoo we went.

We enjoyed our afternoon there checking out some of our favorite animals.

There were so many peacocks parading around the zoo grounds and we were lucky enough to catch sight of this one in full display.

What a sight he was!!

No visit to the zoo would be complete without a chance to feed the goats in the Children’s Zoo area. Izzy got the hang of holding out her hand flat while the goat ate the food right out of it. Izzy had fun with that and the goats enjoyed it too!

We ended our day at the zoo with a ride on the train. It gave the adults a chance to rest their feet. Ahhhh! Izzy and Grandpa pretended to blow the train’s whistle to get the train moving and soon it did!

We were tuckered out by the end of our visit, but we had a great time on a beautiful day!

When we got back to the house, Izzy and Anne took a nap once Kaya got home from school. I think Grandpa and I could have joined them, but we had a few things to do to get ready to meet my sister, Peggy and my brother-in-law, Tom for dinner at Matty’s Bar and Grill. We were looking forward to an old-fashioned Wisconsin fish fry and we weren’t disappointed. We enjoyed our visit with Peg and Tom. My niece, Kristen and her two kids, Logan and Arianna, dropped by for a quick hello too.

Bob and I got back to the house and everyone else was gone. They must have gone out to dinner too. I took Auggie for an extra long walk on a beautiful night! Bob and I watched a little TV while we waited for everyone to get home. They got back from dinner and stopped at the trailer to say goodnight. We relaxed a little before calling it a night. It was a great day!
